Autogenic Training

Autogenic training, first introduced by German psychiatrist Schultz in 1932, utilizes the body's natural relaxation response to counteract unwanted mental and physical symptoms.

Balance – at work and in everyday life aspects

Autogenic training, coined by Schultz in 1928, is one of the best known and most effective methods for self-relaxation. It is highly recommended by doctors and therapists and it can be learned by almost any person during his or her lifetime.
Autogenic training is a form of self-hypnosis that you will learn to use on your own in a few weeks only.

The aim of the course is on the one hand to learn the method and its applications and on the other hand to understand and experience yourself better, becoming more aware.

De-stress and be calm, by all means, but this alone is not enough.

Benefits of Autogenic Training

  • The regaining of calmness
  • Easier falling asleep and sleeping through the night
  • Reducing stress
  • Increasing concentration
  • Overcoming anxiety with exams challenges
  • Improve sports performance
  • Better cope with pain
  • Overcoming difficult life situations
  • Feel and recognize yourself better
  • Take control of your life more consciously

Autogenic training was coined by I.H. Schultz in 1928.

It is an easy-to-learn method that has many positive physiological and psychological effects

Physiological aspects

On the physiological level, it is an excellent method to bring all levels of the brain into balance. This balance is the basis for optimal functioning of our thinking and reaction abilities, even in stressful situations. Our nervous system calms down, we can deal with everyday situations more serenely. Through the regulation of the nervous system, the body will react accordingly. Muscle tensions diminish, digestion improves and you feel overall better in your body.

Mental and spiritual aspects

And yet Autogenic Training can go much deeper. In this course you will not only learn the practical aspects of Autogenic Training, but also get acquainted with its deeper layers. I want to help you understand better where certain patterns of yours come from and what you can do to deal with them. Also understand a bit more about communication and about why some people trigger certain unwanted feelings. To do this, we will take a closer look at the depth psychological (unconscious) and soul aspects of it. I will also explain why each formula has a very specific effect and meaning.

The more consciously you work with this method for yourself, the deeper you will experience its effect.

The more consciously you work with this method for yourself, the deeper you will experience its impact.

How many times do I have to come?

If you attend the course within a group, we will meet a total of nine times, eight times regularly one after the other (if possible), once a week. The ninth meeting takes place two months after the last meeting. Each meeting lasts 60 to 75 minutes. After that, practice, practice, practice, and it works! It is a method that you will have forever. If learned correctly, it will never be forgotten.
If you prefer to learn the method in an individual setting, we will set the dates and duration of the course together. In this setting we will meet around five times.

Are you recognized by insurance companies?

I am recognized by the ASCA foundation for the Autogenic Training and the Hypnotherapy. If you have supplementary insurance cover, please ask your insurance company beforehand if they cover the sessions with me.

Autogenic Training for Children and Adolescents

I also love teaching autogenic training to children from about seven years on. The groups are formed with children or teenagers in the same age groups. This way I can adapt the language and the way I teach this method according to their interests. I want to make the courses fun and appealing to them.

These groups meet in average five times depending on the size and age of the participants.
